Cima ‘On Air’ was a multi-phase creative initiative consisting of three community-centered events culminating in a final gallery exhibition rooted in the theme of radio nostalgia. Hosted at the historic Oak Cliff Assembly and funded by the City of Dallas, the project celebrated the cultural significance of music through immersive experiences.

Goals

  • Reignite a sense of collective memory through the aesthetics and storytelling of classic radio.

  • Foster community engagement by creating accessible, participatory art experiences.

  • Highlight local talent across music, visual arts, and crafts in a celebratory space.

Target Audience

  • Dallas-based creatives, young families, music lovers, and community members interested in immersive art and culture events.

Challenges Addressed

  • Transforming a raw venue into a cohesive, themed experience across multiple dates.

  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and local vendors to execute diverse elements like live performances, installations, and interactive crafts.

  • Maintaining consistent branding and storytelling through varying event formats while staying aligned with public funding guidelines.

Installation Design

I curated and designed immersive spaces for the event, creating interactive installations where attendees could engage with the art. These spaces were crafted to encourage participation, offering photo opportunities and drawing elements on designated boards.

Promotional Material

I organized and directed the creation of video and photo promotional materials. Collaborating closely with the social media team, I led campaign shoots that showcased the radio-inspired installations through magazine-style imagery.

The visuals were designed to evoke a sense of vintage charm, aligning with the event’s theme while engaging audiences across platforms, driving interest, and capturing the essence of the exhibition.
