World’s Shortest War

Independent film focused on the story of Hispanic man in his early 20’s, growing up in the 80’s. I was responsible for storyboarding the film and capturing stills that reflected the emotional depth of the narrative. I worked closely with the director to ensure the color scheme and cinematic style reinforced the film’s gritty, nostalgic tone. My role involved translating the character's hard journey into visually compelling scenes that enhanced the storytelling, creating a cohesive aesthetic that captured the era's essence while emphasizing the emotional intensity of the character's struggles.

Overseeing every artistic element, I ensured that the film’s visuals reflect Oscar's struggles and triumphs. Collaborating closely with the director, set designers, and cinematographers, I crafted environments that mirror the raw tone of the film. From the gritty streets of Oscar’s youth to the stark contrast of military life, I curated a palette of imagery that heightens the tension and emotional depth.

Responsibilities include guiding the actors' performances to bring out the emotion of Oscar’s inner conflict, choosing costumes, settings, and props authentically reflect the time period, and shaping the film’s tone through coordination of lighting and sound design. By also creating a cohesive visual identity for the film’s marketing and promotional material, aligning the narrative with presentation.
